According to a new report in the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery journal, patients who undergo tummy tuck and liposuction procedures experience a significant improvement in self-esteem and quality of life.
The study of 360 patients found that tummy tuck procedures produced a satisfaction rating of 9 out of 10, and a tummy tuck coupled with liposuction resulted in patients scoring satisfaction with their procedure in the 99th percentile.
The study is one of the first of its kind as plastic surgeons concentrate more on the impacts of procedures on patients’ overall quality of life. Tummy tucks and liposuction are among the most performed cosmetic procedures in America.
Doctors believe that by quantifying the levels of patient satisfaction, they will be able to better assess the expected recovery times and results for two popular cosmetic procedures.
