Phillip Toledano’s exhibit “A New Kind of Beauty” is taking over Los Angeles, and its mirroring the current trends in plastic surgery.
The exhibit features artful photos of people who have undergone extensive, if not excessive, plastic surgery. His subjects, called “Botox Botticellis” by many media outlets, have had procedures ranging from injectables and eyelid lifts to rhinoplasty and breast augmentation.
Toledano says the extreme plastic surgery subjects don’t represent a beauty enhancement but more of an evolution in the definition of beauty. Despite the models being unrelated, on examination they all seem to have a commonality to their appearances.
The exhibit runs through July 2 at the Kopeikin Gallery in Los Angeles.
