Developers in Kona, Hawaii have built a 13,800 square foot private residence/resort atop lava rock and hope to sell the finished property of palatial proportions, started in 2007, for $25 million.
The mansion, known as Kuki’o 87, features a total of 25 rooms, making it seem much more like a resort rather than a private residence. The home consists of six bedrooms, nine bathrooms, two offices, two laundry areas, a massage room, a gym room, a playroom, and a security room to ensure the safety of potential residents, owners, or guests. High, hardwood ceilings feature in the main living areas, and the chef’s kitchen presents with all the top-of-the-line appliances and materials a cooking connoisseur could ever wish for.
The backyard of the property is particularly stunning; not only are there views of the Pacific and Maui, there is an infinity pool, a garden reminiscent of a rainforest, and a stone patio. Those who purchase the property will also be able to join the exclusive Kukio Golf and Beach Club, which features an 18-hole course designed by Tom Fazio, and indoor and outdoor spa, and many other recreational facilities.
The high level of luxury offered at the Kuki’o development made the developers feel justified in originally asking for $29.6 million; however since there were no takers, the company slashed the price to $25 million in order to make a quicker sale.
