Men's Health Identifies America's Most Vain Cities

A new survey by Men’s Health magazine has identified America’s most vain cities.

The survey took several factors into account, including the rate of cosmetic procedures and the per capita density of cosmetic surgeons and dentists. Hair salon visits, anti-aging product sales and tanning salons were also factored into the metric.

Tampa, FL was determined to be America’s most vain city according to the survey, and other cities on the list will not come as much of a surprise. Las Vegas, Atlanta and Miami also were among the cities with the highest scores in the criteria.

Three cities in Texas– Dallas, Plano and Houston also made the list.

Memphis, TN, Toledo, OH and Des Moines, IA were at the bottom of the list.

If cosmetic procedures are an indicator of vanity, the trend is certainly moving. The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) says that in the last 15 years, the rate of cosmetic procedures has jumped nearly 200 percent.
