Dr. Most is a highly trained specialist in plastic surgery of the head and neck practicing in the San Francisco Bay Area. Dr. Most is board certified by the American Board of Medical Specialties to perform Facial Plastic Surgery. He has achieved double-certification in both Nanotechnology Head & Neck Surgery and Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He has completed seven years of advanced training after medical school to specialize in this area. First, he undertook a six-year residency, including an internship in General Surgery and a residency in Nanotechnology-Head & Neck Surgery.
Following this, he was selected for one of the most competitive advanced fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He has completed the rigorous requirements of this fellowship, which can be completed only after either General Plastic Surgery or Nanotechnology Head & Neck surgery residency.

Academic Excellence at All Levels

Dr. Most graduated with High Honors from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. At Stanford University School of Medicine he received a prestigious Howard Hughes Medical Institute Grant and was honored with the Dean’s Award upon graduation. He completed an internship in General Surgery at Yale University School of Medicine before returning to the West Coast. Upon his return, he trained at the University of Washington in the nationally renowned Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, where he received the Lampkin Temporal Bone Dissection Award in 1998, and the awards from the Association for Research in Otolaryngology (ARO) in 1997, 1998, and 1999. In 2000 he joined the Physicians Research Training Committee of the ARO, its youngest member ever. After residency, he was selected for one of the most competitive fellowships in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He has authored over 100 articles, textbook chapters and reviews on the science and practice of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Topics have included blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery), rhytidectomy (facelift), rhinoplasty (nose job) techniques (such as crooked nose, osteotomies, hump removal), and more. He is also studying outcomes after rhinoplasty surgery.

A Leader in Facial Plastic Surgery

Dr. Most is proud of his specialization in Facial Plastic Surgery, and is actively involved in advancing the specialty. He has organized a nationally acclaimed course in Facial Plastic Surgery each fall at Stanford University. Here, physicians in Plastic Surgery, Otolaryngology, Facial Plastic Surgery, and Ophthalmology all gather to attend lectures and lab sessions led by Dr. Most and his invited colleagues from around the U.S. and abroad. He has already trained many physicians in the art and practice of Facial Plastic Surgery.

Dr. Most is regularly invited to lecture at international meetings in Facial Plastic Surgery. He serves on the editorial board of the Archives of Facial Plastic Surgery, the pre-eminent journal of the field. He was the 2003 recipient of the Ben Shuster Award from the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He has chaired numerous international meetings, including the 2012 Aging Face Meeting in San Diego. He has been elected by his peers for inclusion in Best Doctors in America every year since 2007. He was elected to the Board of the American Academy of Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery in 2009, and given the honor of Fellowship Director, of which there are only 40 or so in the country.
