I Spy a Contact Lens With Info-Streaming Technology

streaming Technology

In her most recent entry for the San Francisco Vision Health Examiner, the Haute MD Network’s Dr. Ella Faktorovich told readers about the newest technology in contact lenses: the bionic eye.

Scientists at the University of Washington have discovered a way to bring the concept of info-vision streaming to life. The creation: a contact lens that can pick up a phone signal and stream data across a person’s sight. LED lights, a wireless antenna and an electronic circuit are embedded into the lens, enabling it to pick up the signal from a cell phone and generate the words right in front of the wearer’s eyes.

This revolutionary technology makes reading news, text messages, emails and even browsing Facebook a hands-free task. With media already taking over as far as the eye can see, is the bionic eye be the new trend in sight?
