CosmetAssure offers Cosmetic Surgery Insurance

According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), in 2011, the United States saw 13.8 million cosmetic plastic surgery procedures. That number has been at a steady increase, with a 5 percent rise showing since 2010. As the numbers continue to grow year after year, the need to educate and financially protect patients through the CosmetAssure program increases as well.

Many cosmetic surgery patients are unaware that the majority of major health insurance policies prohibit corrective action and treatments resulting from complications following elective cosmetic surgery, even if said treatments are medically necessary. The average claim is $6,000 per surgery case, making it a financial burden that CosmetAssure insurance is helping patients with.

One of seven companies endorsed by the ASPS, CosmetAssure provides the insurance needed to cover unforeseen complications that could follow an elective cosmetic procedure. It was established to fill the gap in the insurance industry by offering coverage to patients having one or more of the 17 covered procedures.

CosmetAssure is obtainable only to board-certified plastic surgeons and is offered in 45 states and the District of Columbia.
